Local boats used for Balicasag can be noisy, especially during the early morning ride. To make the journey more comfortable, we provide hearing protection on board, together with towels, snorkeling gear, water and snacks.
How the experience unfolds
Snorkeling in Balicasag is regulated, with a mandatory briefing and organized access to protect the reef.
Snorkeling takes place at two specific areas around the island, always accompanied by guides.
To complete the morning, we add snorkeling time in Panglao, choosing the spot with the best sea conditions that day.
This allows for a more relaxed snorkel and a smooth, enjoyable end to the experience.

Best Departure time to avoid crowds
The standard departure of the island hopping to Balicasag island time is around 6:30 am. That said, for travelers who want to stay ahead of the usual flow of boats, we generally recommend leaving at around 6:00 am. Starting earlier often makes a noticeable difference in terms of crowd levels and overall comfort.
If seeing dolphins is not a priority, a later departure from 8:00 am onwards can also be a good option. Most boats usually leave between 6:30 and 7:00 am, so by the time you arrive, much of the busiest period is already over. The downside is that dolphin sightings are very unlikely later in the morning, since they are typically only seen at the start of the day.
