Frequently Asked Questions – BNT Travel and Tours
Everything you need to know about our private tours in Bohol and travel experiences in the Philippines, from booking and payments to changes, cancellations and practical information.
Our Private Tours
1. How long does a private tour last?
Our tours are designed to offer complete, enjoyable experiences without unnecessary rushing.
As a general guide:
Island-hopping tours: approximately 6–8 hours.
Land tours: approximately 8 hours, with some extended experiences lasting up to 12 hours.
The duration depends on the selected itinerary, weather, sea conditions and local arrangements. We will confirm the expected duration when you book.
2. Can I add activities or customize my tour?
Our private tours are carefully designed to offer a balanced experience, combining the most interesting places with authentic local encounters.
If you would like to adjust an itinerary or include an additional activity, please let us know before booking.
We will advise whether your request is feasible, taking into account travel distances, available time, local regulations and operational arrangements.
Any additional costs will be communicated before confirmation.
3. Are entrance fees and other expenses included?
We aim to include all essential entrance fees, environmental fees and activities described as included in your confirmed itinerary.
Some optional activities, meals, drinks or personal expenses may not be included.
Your tour description and booking confirmation will specify what is included and excluded, so you know what to expect before making payment.
4. Are your tours private, or can I join another group?
All BNT tours are organized as private experiences exclusively for your booking.
We do not combine unrelated customers into shared tour groups.
Your group will have its own arranged transportation and guiding services as specified in the itinerary.
Please note that certain public attractions and protected marine areas operate under local regulations and may involve other visitors or guides assigned by local authorities.
Families, Accessibility and Practical Information
5. Are there discounts for children?
Children under 4 years old can generally join our standard tours free of charge.
Children aged 4 and above are charged at the regular participant rate.
Any tour-specific restrictions or additional supplier charges will be communicated before booking.
Please inform us of the ages of all children when requesting a reservation.
6. Can children and senior travelers participate in your tours?
Many of our activities are suitable for families and travelers of different ages.
However, not every tour is appropriate for everyone.
Some experiences involve walking on uneven terrain, climbing steps, swimming or boarding traditional Filipino boats without conventional boarding facilities.
Please inform us in advance about any mobility limitations, medical considerations or assistance requirements that could affect participation.
We will help you choose an appropriate experience and explain any relevant physical requirements before booking.
7. Where do the tours start and finish?
Pickup and drop-off arrangements depend on the selected tour and the location of your accommodation.
Many of our Bohol tours include private transfers from designated areas of Panglao.
Transfers from other locations, distant resorts or ports may require an additional charge or may not be available.
The exact pickup location and time must be agreed upon and confirmed in writing before the tour.
We cannot guarantee transfers from locations outside the confirmed pickup area.
8. What should I wear and bring?
We recommend comfortable, lightweight clothing and suitable footwear.
Depending on your tour, you may also need:
Swimwear and a change of clothes.
Sandals or water shoes.
Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.
A lightweight raincoat.
Personal medication and any essential belongings.
For island-hopping tours, we recommend protecting phones, cameras and valuables from water.
9. Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
We are happy to consider dietary preferences and requirements when meals are included in your tour.
Please inform us before booking if you are vegetarian, vegan, have food allergies or require a special diet.
We will coordinate with our local providers and advise what can reasonably be accommodated.
Booking and Payments
10. How do I book a private tour?
Simply send us your preferred tour, travel date, number of participants and accommodation location.
Our team will check availability and provide the relevant information, including the itinerary, price, payment instructions and booking conditions.
For private one-day tours, full payment is normally required to confirm the reservation.
Your booking is confirmed only once BNT has received the required payment and issued written confirmation by email.
Tour arrangements are subject to availability until confirmed.
11. What payment methods do you accept?
Depending on the booking, we can arrange payment through PayPal, credit or debit card payment links, bank transfer, Wise or other payment methods confirmed by our team.
You do not necessarily need a PayPal account to pay by credit or debit card through an eligible payment link.
The available payment methods and payment deadline will be provided before confirmation.
Please make payments only through official instructions supplied by BNT Travel and Tours.
Changes, Cancellations and Medical Emergencies
12. Can I change the number of participants after booking?
Please inform us by email as soon as possible if the number of participants changes.
Our private tour prices are calculated according to the confirmed group size and the services reserved for that group.
A reduction in participants does not automatically result in a proportional refund, particularly when transportation, guiding services, boats or other arrangements have already been confirmed.
Any price adjustment will depend on the applicable booking conditions, the notice provided and the costs that can reasonably be adjusted.
Changes are only effective once confirmed by BNT in writing.
13. Can I change the date of my tour after booking?
We understand that travel plans sometimes change and will always try to help where reasonably possible.
However, date changes are subject to availability and may involve additional costs.
A request to reschedule does not automatically cancel the original booking or guarantee a free date change.
If services have already been reserved, prepared or paid for, the costs of the original arrangements may remain payable.
BNT will inform you of any additional charges before confirming a new date.
If rescheduling is not possible or the proposed conditions are not accepted, the original reservation remains subject to our applicable cancellation policy.
14. What happens if one participant becomes ill and cannot attend?
We understand that illness can occur unexpectedly.
If one participant is unable to attend, the private tour may still proceed for the remaining guests, provided the arrangements remain suitable and operationally feasible.
The illness of one participant does not automatically cancel the entire group reservation or entitle all participants to a full refund.
Any refund or adjustment relating to the affected participant will be assessed according to the booking conditions, applicable cancellation periods and legal requirements.
If the group decides not to proceed with the entire excursion because one participant is unwell, the cancellation conditions for the whole private booking will apply.
15. What happens if we cancel our entire private tour due to illness or a medical emergency?
We understand that medical emergencies are unexpected and that guests may be unable to travel through no fault of their own.
However, our private tours require advance commitments to local guides, drivers, boat operators and other suppliers.
Under our cancellation policy, guest-initiated cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled departure are non-refundable, including cancellations due to illness or medical emergencies, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
A medical certificate may help document the circumstances but does not automatically waive cancellation charges or guarantee a full refund.
We will consider requests for assistance or alternative arrangements where reasonably possible, but any exception must be confirmed by BNT in writing.
16. What happens if we cancel shortly before departure?
Last-minute cancellations can have significant operational consequences.
By the time a tour is approaching departure, our guide may already be working, the boat may have been prepared and fuelled, transportation may have been dispatched and supplier payments may already have become non-recoverable.
Cancellations received less than 48 hours before departure, including those received within the final 12 hours, are subject to a 100% cancellation charge under our policy, except where required otherwise by applicable law.
This applies to guest-initiated cancellations, including unexpected personal circumstances and medical emergencies.
The purpose of this policy is to protect the financial commitments made to provide the confirmed private service.
17. What happens if we do not arrive at the confirmed pickup point?
Guests are responsible for being at the confirmed meeting point at the agreed time.
If guests do not attend and the tour cannot proceed as scheduled, the booking may be treated as a no-show.
No-shows are non-refundable under our cancellation policy, except where required otherwise by applicable law.
Please contact our team immediately if you anticipate a delay. We will try to assist where operationally possible, but delays or missed departures cannot be guaranteed to be accommodated.
18. How do I request a cancellation?
All formal cancellation requests must be submitted by email, preferably by replying to the original booking confirmation thread.
Please include your name, booking details and the tour date.
For urgent situations, you may also contact our operations team by telephone or WhatsApp, but the cancellation request must be confirmed by email.
Cancellation deadlines are calculated according to the confirmed tour departure time and the time BNT receives the written cancellation request, using Philippine Standard Time (UTC+8).
Please refer to our Payment and Cancellation Policy for the applicable charges and procedures.
19. Can travel insurance cover a cancelled tour due to illness?
We strongly recommend that all travelers obtain travel insurance covering unexpected illness, medical emergencies, trip interruptions and cancellation of prepaid activities.
Depending on the policy, insurance may reimburse eligible non-refundable expenses if a traveler becomes unable to participate.
Where applicable, BNT can provide booking confirmations, invoices, receipts and supporting documentation of non-refundable costs to assist with an insurance claim.
Insurance reimbursement is determined by the insurance provider and its terms, conditions and exclusions. BNT cannot guarantee approval of a claim.
20. What happens if BNT cancels a tour or the Philippine Coast Guard suspends boat operations?
Your safety is always our priority.
If a tour cannot operate due to official Coast Guard restrictions, unsafe conditions or an operational cancellation by BNT, we will work with you to arrange a suitable alternative.
Where the confirmed tour cannot be provided and a suitable alternative is not possible or accepted, the affected service will be refunded in accordance with our applicable policy and legal obligations.
Light rain does not automatically mean that a tour must be cancelled. Decisions involving marine activities depend on actual sea conditions and official safety restrictions.
These circumstances are treated separately from cancellations initiated by guests.
21. Do the same cancellation conditions apply to complete travel packages?
Not necessarily.
Private one-day tours and complete multi-day travel packages can involve different payment schedules, cancellation periods and supplier conditions.
Hotels, flights, ferries and other prepaid travel services may have their own cancellation rules.
The specific terms for your booking will be communicated before payment and reflected in your confirmed travel arrangements.
